At the beginning of the year, I decided I was ready for a new bathroom.  However, my wallet did not agree.  After selling a few items on a local online classified service, I pocketed just enough to make the changes I wanted to make.  We did the whole thing for around $300 and A LOT of elbow grease. Oh yeah!  Check out the before and after pics!
Before:  We moved to this home in 2003.  I painted the kids bathroom in an "ocean theme."
 Got tired of it fast!
Gotta love the plain oak vanity.....Not!

After: Ta Da!!!
We kept the paint blue, but opted for a softer more "adult" blue.
We made our own towel rack with the awesome, vintage crystal knob that I love soooooo much!
New bead board and baseboards (whoever thought that putting MDF baseboards in a bathroom, near water, should be shot), and new shower curtain which inspired the whole room..... which can easily be changed out, when and if the kids ever grow up, for a more adult theme.
New light fixture, goodbye to the Hollywood dressing room light.
And the best of all.... my "new" vanity!  This is where most of the work was.  I sanded, stripped, stained, sanded more, stripped more, stained in a different color.....etc., etc., etc. We actually had the whole bathroom done except for the cabinet doors (oh those grooves!!!), for a month or so, before we finally got the whole thing done!  And, don't forget the bling! Gotta love the hardware! We love it and love that with some new accessories we can change it in a heart beat!
